Anthony Alvo brings his experience as a Marine Corps combat veteran, police officer, and public safety dispatcher to a career in education and training in the law enforcement industry.

In 2016, Anthony Alvo became a Fundamentals of Law Enforcement Instructor at Rialto High School, where he teaches students the academic standards, technical skills, and personal traits necessary for a career in the law enforcement industry. Prior to entering the field of education, Anthony amassed nearly twenty years of law enforcement experience as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department and the Chino Police Department. He transitioned from police officer to public safety dispatcher for both the Chino Police Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD), where he was promoted to Public Safety Dispatcher Trainer and instructed at the SBCSD Dispatch Academy.

Since 2009, Anthony has been a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Dispatch Academy instructor at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, CA., where he  teaches numerous learning domains and advanced dispatch training including, “Public Safety Dispatcher’s Role in Mass Casualty and Fatality Incidents” and “Dispatcher’s Response to School-Based Incidents.” These courses are informed by his police field experience and his understanding of terrorism from 12 years of service as a field radio operator in the Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism.
