Teaching Adults: What Every Trainer Should Know
Description
This course is not designed as a basic certification, but offers advanced training specific to learning styles, adult learning theories and offers insight into practical training challenges like methods of studying, motivation, and how to train and understand Millennials. The two-day course is specifically designed to address the needs of Communications Training Officers in a public safety agency.
Under the instruction provided by a qualified instructor(s) each student will acheive the following learning outcomes:
- Students will be able to construct a basic training plan that incorporates a specific learning style.
- Students will be able to employ specific methods of studying to match their trainees’ learning style to maximize their learning.
- Students will be able to plan instructional strategies relevant for the digital-aged and on-the-go- learners
- Students will be able to explain the role of technology with regard to how the millennial generation trainee learns.
- Students will be able to practice a dialogue method that will increase their effectiveness of managing a conflict through an earnest conversation.
