Domestic Terrorism
The course explores the US domestic violent extremists threat landscape and is designed for first responders to include 9-1-1 and field personnel.
Description
The Department of Justice defines domestic terrorism as, “Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.”
- Students will identify the distinct characteristics of domestic extremists’ groups.
- Discuss and review ideologies related to predominant domestic violent extremists’ groups or movements.
- Review common tactics and recruitment methods.
All class times listed are Pacific (California) time.
Prerequisites
You must be currently employed with a California public safety government agency, i.e., police department, sheriff's office, probation, etc.
