Domestic Terrorism
The course explores the US domestic violent extremists threat landscape and is designed for first responders to include 9-1-1 and field personnel. In partnership with the Upland Police Department, this presentation is presented tuition free for California public safety personnel; specifically, 9-1-1 and field first responders. If you are unable to attend the course you have registered for please be respectful and notify us as soon as possible so we may extend another first responder your spot.
Description
The Department of Justice defines domestic terrorism as, “Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.”
- Students will identify the distinct characteristics of domestic extremists’ groups.
- Discuss and review ideologies related to predominant domestic violent extremists’ groups or movements.
- Review common tactics and recruitment methods.
The tuition free presentations are restricted to California public safety personnel. The course is designed for 9-1-1 and field first responders.
No shows will not be eligible to enroll in future tuition free courses.
All class times listed are Pacific (California) time.
Prerequisites
You must be currently employed with a California public safety government agency, i.e., police department, sheriff's office, probation, etc.
