Domestic Violent Extremists

The course explores the US domestic violent extremists threat landscape and is designed for first responders to include 9-1-1 and field personnel.

Description

The Department of Justice defines domestic terrorism as, “Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.”

  1. Students will identify the distinct characteristics of domestic extremists’ groups.
  2. Discuss and review ideologies related to predominant domestic violent extremists’ groups or movements.
  3. Review common tactics and recruitment methods.

All class times listed are Pacific  (California) time.

Prerequisites

Must currently work for a public safety agency.
