Handling the Rising Tide of Suicide

The goal of this course is to provide the student with background information, concepts, techniques and an understanding of the emotional impact of dealing with suicides and suicidal callers.

Under the instruction provided by a qualified instructor(s) each student will achieve the following learning outcomes: 

• Identify common causes of suicide.
• Demonstrate an understanding of techniques when speaking with a suicidal caller.
• Analyze the impact of trauma and the relationship with suicide in the law enforcement community.
